Description

The European Centre for Modern Languages is an institution of the Council of Europe in Graz, Austria. The Center functions as a catalyst for reforms in the field of teaching and learning languages. In the cooperation with the leading experts, the ECML develops 4-years programmes orientated on the key educational issues requiring urgent solution.

The Centre has been organizing international traineeships since 1997. Invitation of young specialists from all over Europe to join the organization team for the short period of time strengthens the Center’s role as a place for international cooperation and promotion of atmosphere of intercultural studying.

Field of traineeship

Twice a year the Center offers traineeship of six month period. Trainees can choose main fields in which they would like to obtain new skill:

  1. Organization of events and meetings
  2. Work with documentation and inner resources
  3. Works with the website of the Centre
  4. Finance and general management

All trainees will get a fellowship from the Center in amount of € 720 per month. Besides, a sum of € 230 will paid as a compensation of travel expanses.

A letter of acceptance will be issued to trainees by the Center with duration and conditions of traineeship specified. Having this letter is enough to receive Austrian visa. Should any issues concerning visa obtaining arise, organization may interfere and contact an embassy.

Deadline

September 30 – for the period of January to June of the following year

March 31 - the period of July to December of the following year and September to February

Requirements for candidates:

In order to apply one should fill in a form on the website. Candidates are to describe their language skills in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
