In November 04, 2013 the Academic Council of the University approved the Regulations on the title "Honorary Doctor" of SHEE "Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman" and its Awarding Procedure.

Procedure of adopting the title "Honorary Doctor" :

1. The title of "Honorary Doctor" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman" is awarded to prominent national and foreign scientists, progressive government and political leaders who have been internationally recognized for their personal contribution to the development of science, designing, and introducing modern education technologies, pedagogical activity as well as strengthening of international cooperation of scientists of the University and foreign countries in the field of science and education.

2. The title of "Honorary Doctor" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman" is awarded to those who are not employed at the University. The university may not assume any responsibilities for decorations and encouragements including financial ones which are set up for the awardee of the title of "Honorary Doctor" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman", according to the current legislation of the country which he represents.

3. The Academic Council of the University and the academic councils of the faculties may propose candidates to be awarded the title of "Honorary Doctor" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman". Candidates to be awarded the title of "Honorary Doctor" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman" deliver a report or lecture before academic staff and students of the University.

4. A decision to award a candidate with the title of "Honorary Doctor" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman" is made with simple majority of vote by the Academic Council of the University.

5. Those awarded with the title of "Honorary Doctor" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman" receive the diploma and academic dress. Description of the diploma and academic dress is appended to these Regulations.

6. The "Honorary Doctor" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman" diploma and academic dress are presented at a ceremonial sitting of the Academic Council of the University with scientific, academic staff, students, and staff of the University present.

7. Information about awarding the title of "Honorary Doctor" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman" is published in the Economist paper, on the University Web-site, and reported in mass media.

8. Those awarded with the title of "Honorary Doctor" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman" have a right to:

- take part in a sitting of the Academic Council of the University and that of the academic councils of the faculties;

- to deliver a report at scientific conferences conducted at the University;

- to publish their works in the scientific publications of the University;

- to partake in ceremonial events of the University.

9. Information about Honorary Doctors of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman is entered into the registry book which is kept at the Museum of the University.
