Since 1999 over 1000 students from more than 70 countries have visited Marburg to participate at the ISU program. The ISU offers a well-balanced combination of academic courses and a carefully planned social program. The ISU 2016 will take place from July 16, 2016 till August 13, 2016.

Your summer of a lifetime is only FIVE STEPS away!

1.      Choose two academic courses your wish to attend. More information on the academic program is available here.

2.      Submit your application online  no later than June 1, 2016. Your application will include a letter of motivation, transcript of records and a CV.

3.      Once you have received the official letter of acceptance and payment information, you have three weeks to pay the program fee.

         If we do not receive the program fee within three weeks, your application will be cancelled.

4.      If you need a visa, the official letter of invitation will be issued and mailed to you after the balance of fees has been paid.

5.      Get prepared for your summer in Marburg!


Tuition and Fees

The overall course fee after April 1, 2016 is 1990 EURComplete your application by March 31, 2016 and get an early-bird discounted rate of 1740 EUR.

Only completed applications are eligible for the early bird discout. You need to complete your application and pay the balance of fees byMarch 31, 2016 to receive the discount.

The fee covers tuition and includes the following:

  • intensive German language course,
  • two academic seminars,
  • one supplement course,
  • study material,

  • accommodation in a single room in one of our student dormitories,

  • health and personal liability insurance for the duration of the program,
  • meal subsidy of EUR 50 (charged on to a mensa debit card),

  • breakfast (weekdays),
  • evening events,

  • monthly ticket for public transportation in Marburg,
  • cultural program (weekend field trips to Frankfurt and Kassel and to Strasbourg in France, opening and closing party, weekly film program, lectures, excursions and more!)

The above cannot be booked separately.

Additional Expenses:

  • individual travel expenses,
  • meals and beverages,
  • personal spending,
  • travel insurance.


Payment Regulations

The program fee is due no later than three weeks after the receipt if the official letter of acceptance. For students from partner institutions of the University of Marburg and for scholarhip holders special payment conditions may apply. Do not direct any payments until you have been officially accepted to the program, and received payment directions.
