Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman

Educational methodology work

The Department is consistently implementing the major criteria of the modern education system manifested in the quality of training of specialists; contributes to making the study of core disciplines more fundamental and customised; strengthens the trust among parties to education activities; improves the compatibility of qualifications; enhances the conformity with requirements of the European labour market by improving the competitiveness of graduates of the Department.

The Department, which is relatively small in terms of the number of researchers and teachers, supports the organisation of the teaching process at a rather qualified level. This is the only Department in the University, which meets the demand of the agroindustrial sector for economists, who have profound interdisciplinary knowledge. Teachers, who realise the specificity of the Faculty and the Department, make major effort to comply with requirements for the contemporary organisation of the studies.

The Department has implemented training courses for bachelor and master-level students. Working in micro-groups, students design the full-fledged activities of an agrarian enterprise starting from the development of the crop rotation, the procurement of the required material and equipment, the formation of the personnel to the obtainment of the net profit and the formation of the balance sheet.

At the master level, the students are trained again in designing an agroindustrial formation in the product-based sub-sector of the agroindustrial sector on the basis of operations of a sugar factory. This training course takes two weeks and is aimed at the absorption of the methodology of the establishment of an agroindustrial formation on the basis of a processing company by students to ensure the provision of the said enterprise with own raw materials in volumes sufficient for its stable operation under circumstances of the competition on the agrarian market and the land lease market. This training course makes it possible to model an agroindustrial formation, which is as close as possible to real operating agroindustrial formations from the point of view of its parameters and operating conditions.
