Methodology of Economic Research (Module 2)

 

The learning objective of the discipline- is to study the methods of economic research.

The task (educational goals) of the disciplineis to make students rethink existing and create new holistic knowledge and professional practices by means of forming and developing program competencies needed to solve complex problems in the field of research, innovation and professional activity. Students should master their basic knowledge, skills and abilities to perform original scientific research in the field of economics and entrepreneurship, the results of which have scientific novelty, theoretical and practical significance.

The subject of the disciplineis theoretical basis, methods and applied tools of economic research in the field of economics and entrepreneurship.

Knowledge:

As a result of studying the discipline the student shouldknow:

- the main provisions of modern theories and the latest achievements in the field of economics and entrepreneurship;

- basic principles and methodological tools for conducting systematic economic research;

- principles of forming a culture of scientific research and academic integrity;

- methods for evaluating the effectiveness of research results;

- approaches to the training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical staff.

Skills:

- develop a plan for research and generate their own new scientific ideas,

- use modern methods of conducting economic research in compliance with the principles of academic integrity;

- present scientific results in Ukrainian and English to the scientific community, expanding the boundaries of scientific knowledge;

- interpret the results of scientific research within the selected areas of economic activity.

Communication:

- communicate with various target audiences for conducting research in Ukrainian and English;

- conduct information retrieval and transmit scientific information using contemporary information and innovative technologies.

Autonomy and responsibility:

- effectively organize research activities;

- demonstrate authority, creativity, a high degree of self-learning and self-realization, academic integrity, consistent commitment to the development of new ideas in the advanced contexts of economic activity;

- ability to think independently, individually formulate ideas and produce hypotheses.
