Thus, in the research contractual work No. 1/23-g “Green Energy in Agriculture of Ukraine: State Security and Benefit for Society,” commissioned by “PRO-ENERGY,” exploration was carried out regarding the role of distributed generation from renewable energy sources in agriculture of Ukraine.
During the research, a number of measures aimed at activating the implementation of projects for decentralization of renewable energy sources were identified. It was proven that household consumers in rural energy communities should be involved in decentralized energy production processes, which will enable them to ensure their own energy independence.
This implies ensuring the full capability of individual rural households, organizations, and communities not only to produce and manage energy in their own interests, but also to enhance Ukraine’s energy security in the fields of production, distribution, storage, and sale of energy.
Among the most important arguments for the targeted development of green energy in agriculture of Ukraine, the following were identified:

- Firstly, local green energy, especially in rural areas, creates effective competition for producers using traditional non-renewable resources and helps solve problems of energy deficit in agriculture of Ukraine. The use of wind, solar energy, and bioresources is mainly possible at the site of their production.

- Secondly, resources used from renewable energy sources are environmentally clean, and their development provides an opportunity to invest in local rural communities. This, in turn, ensures direct social and economic benefits for the entire society. Also, the introduction of new green technologies in the energy sector will contribute to the creation of jobs in rural areas, development of local communities, and ensuring sustainable growth.

- Thirdly, renewable energy is relatively cheap and inexhaustible; besides, reducing the use of harmful types of energy improves air quality and reduces pollution levels in individual rural communities.
Considering all these aspects, the conclusion was made that investing in green energy for agriculture of Ukraine will not only promote ecological development but also will be a key element for ensuring the country’s security and improving the lives of its citizens.
