Doctor Erhard Roy Wiehn

In 1951-1957 worked in the metal industry, in 1957/61 attended an evening public school and studied Sociology, Philosophy, and Psychology in 1961-1965 in Munich Tübingen, and in the USA. In 1965-1969 was an assistant to Ralf Dahrendorf. In 1965 was awarded Master of Arts, in 1967 was awarded the title of Doctor of Sociological Sciences, in 1971 received the venia legendi Sociology in university. In 1971-1972 was a fellow at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIAS, Institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences) in Wassenaar near the Haag In 1972-1974 was an associate professor at Konstanz University, in 1974 was a visit professor in Bielefeld University, in 1974-2002 was a professor of History and Sociology at Konstanz University. He was many times a member of the Kleinen and Großen Senats and was an acting head of the Großen Senat as well as a member of different university commissions and a representative of the Sociology professors group at Konstanz University. In 1983-194 and in 1990-1991 was the dean of the Social Sciences Faculty, in 1998-1999 was the deputy dean. In 1992-1997 was the head of a workgroup in research and scientific work at universities. In 1985-2002 was a member of the board of the foundation "Umwelt und Wohnen" of Konstanz University.

In 1995 was awarded the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa of KNEU; in 1999 was awarded the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv; in became an honorary professor at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University Romania.

The author of numerous publications; his edition Schoah & Judaica encompasses more than 300 titles.

He initiated partnership relations of Konstanz University with other three international universities. In 1986: Between Konstanz University and the Tel Aviv University, in 1987-1997 acted as Rectors' authorized person for cooperation and at the same time was a member of the board of the Lion Foundation (Zurich), as well as the group for facilitation of cooperation between Konstanz University and the Tev Aviv University. In 1989: Cooperation with Kyiv National Economic University (the Rector's authorized person in 1990-1995 and in 2005-2007). In 1991: Cooperation with the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (the Rector's authorized person in 1992-2007). He initiated partnership relations between Konstanz University and the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University (Romanian) in 1992, Charles University in 1992 and the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics in Moscow in 2003. In 1997-1998 was a member of the German-Ukrainian expert commission of the Council of University Rectors. In 2002-2005 he was a member of the DAAD selection board (DAAD) for Ukraine, Moldova, and Turkey (department 322).
