«CFAInstituteResearchChallenge» —is an annual global competition that provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in conducting investment analysis and writing an investment report on one of the leading public companies in Ukraine or worldwide.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge — is a competition that brings together one team (3–5 students) from each of Ukraine’s top-ranked universities in international rankings to conduct an in-depth investment analysis of a target public company and to prepare and present an investment report on that company. The CFA Investment Research fosters the development of practical skills in conducting investment research among the next generation of analysts, who gain these skills through mentorship from experienced professionals and intensive training in company analysis.

Participation in the CFA Institute Research Challenge is a great opportunity for the most talented students to showcase themselves in front of representatives of leading international investment firms. Many experienced professionals in the field of global investments support the CFA Institute Research Challenge as mentors, evaluators, and judges.

The team of students from KNEU University took their first steps in the “CFA Institute Research Challenge” back in 2010. Students from the Faculty of International Economics and Management have been multiple-time national champions, as well as regional champions and world vice-champions.

In 2015, for the first time in the history of the CFA Institute Research Challenge Ukraine, KNEU students earned the right to represent Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Ukraine at the global final in Atlanta, USA.

The university team, under the academic supervision of Doctor of Economics, Professor of the International Economics Department, and Director of the Institute of Higher Education at KNEU, Larysa ANTONIUK, as well as industry mentor Ivan Sichkar (Denver, USA), achieved such an outstanding result among the finalist teams.

Despite the war's challenging conditions, our team actively participates in the CFA Institute Research Challenge, demonstrating resilience, professionalism, adaptability, and a strong commitment to academic and personal growth. Our team received a letter of appreciation from CFA Society Ukraine for participating in the CFA Institute Research Challenge 2025. We are grateful for the recognition and support that inspire us to strive for excellence.
