Strategic Areas of Research Activity

The Development Strategy of the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman for 2025–2029envisages defining the position of the higher education institution in the market of educational services and outlining long-term areas of development, improving the main activities, development priorities, mission, goals, and objectives necessary for the post-war reconstruction and successful functioning of the University.

 

Taking into account the existing potential and place of the University in the system of education in the field of economics, management, and law, realizing the responsibility to society for further development and provision of practice with scientific knowledge and competitive specialists of the XXI century, the university staff defines its MISSION as making a significant contribution to social development through research, generation of new knowledge, its dissemination and training of socially responsible, creative individuals and competitive specialists.

 

The University implements its mission by achieving the following strategic goals:

  1. Establishing the University as a leading innovative research and education centre in the global environment.
  2. Increasing the intellectual potential and ensuring the competitive leadership of the University.
  3. Development of a modern digital research and education ecosystem and a perfect management system.
  4. Promoting sustainable social development through economic recovery of Ukraine.

The main focus of the University’s strategy is the priority of science, which involves intensifying research, generating new knowledge and its impact on social development and the post-war recovery of Ukraine’s economy.

 

Achieving this goal at the University involves solving various tasks, among which one of the most important is to focus research on the problems of post-war economic reconstruction of Ukraine:

  • analysis of national and international priorities for the development of education and science;
  • concentration of intellectual, informational, financial, and material and technical resources of the University on priority areas of basic and applied research for the post-war economic reconstruction of Ukraine and its regions;
  • deepening cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, in particular through the development of joint initiatives to implement the Ukraine’s National Recovery Plan;
  • deepening cooperation with the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils through joint research in higher education and improvement of the innovative model of competitive development of Ukraine’s economy;
  • monitoring and analyzing information on existing calls for proposals to revive Ukraine’s economy;
  • strengthening the interdisciplinary approach to research and creating specialized interdisciplinary institutions;
  • effective use of the potential of international cooperation agreements concluded by the University to conduct research and expert assessments in the field of economic recovery of Ukraine.
