Honorary Doctors of KNEU

 

Taking into account the high international reputation of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman, its contribution to the development of international cooperation with foreign educational institutions and research organizations, and recognizing the necessity of strengthening the tradition of awarding the title of "Doctor Honoris Causa" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman, the University (hereinafter referred to as the University) has developed the Regulation on the title of "Doctor Honoris Causa" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman and the PROCEDURE for its awarding in accordance with the University Charter.

On February 27, 2025, the Academic Council of the University approved the Regulation on the title of "Doctor Honoris Causa" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman and the procedure for its awarding. Additionally, the procedure for awarding this title is regulated by the Regulation on obtaining the status of "Visiting Professor" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman dated 27.02.2025.

Procedure for awarding the title of "Doctor Honoris Causa":

  1. The title of "Doctor Honoris Causa" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman is awarded to outstanding domestic and foreign scholars, progressive state and political figures:

    • who have gained international recognition for their significant personal contribution to the development of science;

    • who have developed and implemented modern educational technologies and are actively engaged in pedagogical activities;

    • who have made a significant contribution to strengthening international cooperation between the University's scholars and foreign countries in the fields of science, education, and public activity.

  2. The title of "Doctor Honoris Causa" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman is awarded to individuals who do not have direct employment relations with the University. The University cannot assume obligations regarding distinctions and incentives, including financial ones, granted to the laureate of the title of "Doctor Honoris Causa" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman according to the legislation of the country they represent.

  3. Candidates for awarding the title of "Doctor Honoris Causa" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman may be nominated by the Academic Council of the University and the academic councils of faculties. Candidates for awarding the title of "Doctor Honoris Causa" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman must deliver a lecture or a speech before the University’s academic staff and students.

  4. The decision to award the title of "Doctor Honoris Causa" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman is made by open voting of the Academic Council of the University by a simple majority of votes.

  5. Individuals awarded the title of "Doctor Honoris Causa" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman receive a diploma and a gown. The description of the diploma and gown is attached to this Regulation.

  6. The diploma and gown of "Doctor Honoris Causa" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman are presented at a solemn meeting of the Academic Council of the University with the participation of scholars, academic staff, students, and University employees.

  7. Information on the awarding of the title of "Doctor Honoris Causa" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman is published on the University's website and highlighted in mass media.

  8. Individuals awarded the title of "Doctor Honoris Causa" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman have the right to:
    • participate in meetings of the Academic Council of the University and faculty academic councils;
    • deliver reports at scientific conferences held at the University;
    • publish their scientific works in the University's publications;
    • take part in the University’s ceremonial events.

  9. Information about the "Doctors Honoris Causa" of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman is recorded in the registration book, which is kept in the University Museum.
