History

    The Legal Department of the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman (hereinafter referred to as the “Legal Department”) has been operating since June 2006.

    The Legal Department is an independent structural unit of the University, which was established in accordance with the General Regulation on the Legal Service of a Ministry, Other Executive Body, State Enterprise, Institution, and Organization approved by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1040 dated November 26, 2008.

      The Legal Department of the University is guided in its activities by the Constitution of Ukraine, laws of Ukraine, resolutions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, decrees and orders of the President of Ukraine, resolutions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Charter of the University, orders, resolutions of the Rector of the University, and other local acts of the University.

          The Regulation on the Legal Departmentof Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman regulates the activities and defines the main tasks, functions, principles of management and organization of the Legal Department.

 

Functions 

  • checking draft orders, letters, and other acts submitted for signature to the University management for compliance with applicable law; preparing opinions on legal issues arising in the University’s activities;

  • informing the University employees about the provisions of the applicable law;
  • drafting and reviewing contracts with individuals and legal entities, providing legal assessment of their projects; coordinating the preparation of orders and other acts of the University regulating the relations of structural units and their property liability;
  • protecting the legal interests of the University; handling claims and actions, representing the University in court;
  • participation in the preparation of the Charter, Collective Bargaining Agreement, and Internal Regulations of the University;
  • responding to attorneys’ inquiries and appeals from citizens, legal entities, state authorities, and local self-government bodies;
  • preparation of reporting and analytical documentation for the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
