Department of Foreign Citizens Training
Training of foreign students in KNEU started in 1961. Today, the university enrolls approximately 278 students from abroad. Since 1961 the university has trained 2200 students from 60 countries, 186 graduate students received diplomas Ph.D., 72 teachers from 24 countries have been trained.
In accordance with the "Law of Ukraine on Education" citizens have the right to education regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, social or economic status, type and nature of occupation, philosophical beliefs, membership of political parties, religion, faith, health, residence and other circumstances. Admission of foreign students to study at KNEU is based on: international agreements between Ukraine and other countries; agreements of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; agreements (contracts) between KNEU and international organizations and individuals.
Educational and methodical work with foreign students is held by all university departments and leading teachers of the departments. Appointed inspectors conduct organozational and methodological work with foreign students in the departments. The Russian language direction also operates within the department where students can study the first two years in all specialties, except specialties fields of "management" and "law" in Russian.
Foreigners who do not speak the Russian (Ukrainian) language, are able to master them within a 10-month study at the preparatory department of the University, after the successful completion of which they can continue their studies at any university faculty or other institutions of higher educational of Ukraine.
Besides language training, at the preparatory department, foreigners can also gain knowledge of subjects that are necessary for further study in professional specialties. Training groups function in the first two years, where teaching is conducted in Russian (Russian language flow), and at the same time students learn the Ukrainian language they need for further learning.
Foreigners who have Bachelor's degree in Economics can continue their studies in the corresponding Master's degree program of the University.
Students who have Master’s degree in Economics, can continue their education in post-graduate department of KNEU. After having written and successfully defended the dissertation(thesis) with the Specialized Academic Council searchers are assigned the degree of PhD in Economics.
