History of Economics
Economic History examines the genesis of the economic activity of mankind from primitive society to modern, forms of economic systems that have historically existed in the societies of European civilization, the logic of the historical development of the facts and events of economic life.
Objective: reveal major historical facts and socio-economic processes that characterize the development of economics of the leading European countries on the basis of the provisions of the civilizational paradigm, the principles of system-synergetic analysis and use this knowledge to analyze the modern economy.
Task: based on the methodological principles of civilizational paradigms of development of society, develop students’ modern economic thinking, ensure mastery of the methods of historical analysis of economic processes, provide research skills for evaluating economic systems and functioning of European countries market systems.
Competence:
- ability to analyze economic situation in the different stages of the historical development of European civilization, in close cooperation with the political, social, cultural and other factors;
- ability to systemize, critically reflect upon and use the acquired historical economic knowledge to analyze the modern economy;
- ability to use tools of independent analysis of historical facts, phenomena, events and economic forms that determine the process of evolution of the economic sphere of societies in European civilization.
