The general purpose of teaching and studying the discipline is to form foreign language communicative competence in all types of speech activity within the framework of everyday and country studies at level A1 (survival level) on the Common European Scale. The knowledge obtained after studying this academic discipline should provide comprehensive preparation of students for communication in French, taking into account the main language elements - phonetic, lexical-stylistic and grammatical. As a result of studying the academic discipline, certain aspects of intercultural competence should also be formed, namely - awareness and respectful attitude to the cultural traditions of other peoples, in particular, French, and the application of this knowledge in intercultural dialogue. Interdisciplinary connections. The educational discipline "Second Foreign Language for Beginners (French)" integrates a certain number of basic concepts of general theoretical and special disciplines such as: "Local Studies", "Cultural Studies", "Language Culture of Business Communication", "Sociology", "Political Science", etc. Discipline objectives: the program of the educational discipline "Second Foreign Language for Beginners (French)" provides for the following knowledge and skills of applicants at the end of the course: - phonetically correctly read and retell at a slow pace the texts studied and unfamiliar adapted texts; understand the lexical and grammatical material studied and actively master it; - perceive the language by ear: orally and/or in writing present the main content of the listened text within the framework of an active commonly used topic; - make short reports on the studied topics with elements of expressing one's own opinion; describe short situations based on pictures, a given topic, etc.; - conduct short dialogues: ask and answer questions within the studied topic, observing grammatical and intonation-phonetic norms; - write, observing the rules of spelling and grammar (including dictations). List of competencies that a student will acquire after mastering the academic discipline: basic rules of pronunciation, spelling and grammar of the French language; everyday expressions related to simple and specific everyday needs; international words; language of simple everyday materials, such as advertising, brochures; numbers, dates, prices and time; simple instructions, instructions and advice; identify the main idea of simple information texts and short simple descriptions; give short oral descriptions of people, events and types of activities; make simple business contacts; understand the main idea of simple informational texts; write simple isolated phrases and sentences, standard letters and faxes on familiar topics; determine the main content of facts from television news and newspaper reports. The subject of the discipline is foreign discourse, necessary for the formation of communicative speech competence (linguistic, sociolinguistic and pragmatic) to ensure effective communication in a second foreign language in the personal (for level A1) sphere, using a system of relevant language and speech norms, sociocultural knowledge, skills and abilities.
