Foreign LanguagePurpose of the discipline: the general purpose of teaching and studying the discipline is to prepare competitive specialists and creative individuals for effective communication in a foreign language in an educational and professional environment. The program of the discipline is designed to achieve the level of proficiency in the language of the Russian language B2+.
Interdisciplinary connections: the educational discipline "Foreign Language" integrates a large number of basic concepts of general theoretical and special disciplines such as: "International Economics", "Microeconomics", "Macroeconomics", "Enterprise Economics", "Sociology", "Political Science", "Practical Rhetoric", etc.
Objectives of the discipline: – to provide a basic lexical repertoire for reading and understanding the main content of original texts (partially adapted) in the specialty and communication on professional topics; – to teach applicants to express themselves in accordance with the situation, avoiding gross errors in formulating opinions; – to develop the ability to produce sufficiently clear, meaningful written speech with proper presentation of the material; – to promote the formation of foreign language professional communicative competence, which is considered as language behavior and requires the acquisition of linguistic, sociolinguistic, intercultural and pragmatic competencies. The list of competencies that a student will acquire after mastering the academic discipline: to perform a wide range of speech functions (in speaking, listening, reading and writing), which ensure independent language behavior in an international environment; use basic lexical, grammatical, semantic, orthographic, phonological and orthoepic means of a foreign language to combine statements into a logically unified discourse on a wide range of topics related to learning and social life experience; develop curricula for linguistic self-development, independent updating of knowledge in a foreign language using various mechanisms of memorization and self-assessment; enter, maintain and conclude a discussion/conversation in a foreign language in interpersonal communication; formulate own conclusions and proposals in a foreign language; put forward arguments taking into account the socio-cultural characteristics of the interlocutors; search for information and effectively use foreign language resources (dictionaries, reference books, the Internet); systematize and organize materials for preparing reports and presentations for an international audience.
