History

The teaching of foreign languages at our university has been conducted since its establishment. For a long time, there was only one university department of foreign languages. In 1992, this department was divided into two: the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Finance and Economics and the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of International Economics and Management. In 1994, the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Marketing was separated from the first of these. The first head of the department was Senior Lecturer I. Yu. Kunatenko, and since 1999, it has been led by Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Yu. M. Druz.

The department initially provided instruction for students of the faculties of marketing, economics and management, and information systems and technologies, covering full-time, evening, and distance learning formats. It began by offering two disciplines: Foreign Language and Business Foreign Language.

Currently, the department is a structural unit of the Faculty of Marketing and provides foreign language instruction at the faculties of marketing, economics and management, human resource management, sociology, and psychology at both the bachelor's and master's levels. The department’s instructors also conduct preparatory courses for applicants at the Anatolii Poruchnyk Business Education Institute of KNEU.
