Professor Hans-Dietrich Haasis is a distinguished German economist known for his contributions to the development of maritime economics and logistics. From 2001 to 2014, he served as the Director of the Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics (ISL) in Bremen, Germany.

Professor Haasis has over 30 years of academic and research experience. Since 2015, he has been a professor at the Department of General Business Administration, Maritime Business, and Logistics at the University of Bremen. He is also the Chair of the Bremen Asian-German Knowledge Network for Transport and Logistics.

On April 26, 2018, in accordance with the decision of the Academic Council dated March 29, 2018 (Protocol No. 8), Professor Haasis was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman.

Professor Haasis actively contributed to the development of cooperation between the University of Bremen and KNEU, particularly in the fields of logistics and supply chain management. His efforts included organizing joint scientific research and facilitating knowledge exchange between faculty and students of both universities.
