Christopher Hyland served as the Political Director in the administration of U.S. President Bill Clinton. In 1995, upon the initiative of the Department of Marketing and in accordance with Protocol No. 10 of the Academic Council dated June 29, 1995, he was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of Kyiv National Economic University.

As a Political Director, Hyland played a key role in shaping and implementing the political strategy of the Clinton administration, contributing to the development of democratic processes and economic reforms.
