Dr. Piotr WachowiakPiotr Wachowiak is the Rector of the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). He serves as Vice Chairman of the Committee on Organizational and Management Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Chairman of the Conference of Rectors of Economic Universities, and Chairman of the Conference of Rectors of Warsaw Universities. He is a member of the Scientific Council at the Ombudsman for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises of Poland, as well as a member of the Council for Higher Education, Science, and Innovation under the President of the Republic of Poland. He also serves as the Head of the School of Management at the Warsaw School of Economics. His specialization and research interests include human resource management in organizations and corporate social responsibility. He is the author and co-author of publications on negotiation, conflict resolution, human resource management, intellectual capital measurement, and knowledge management. In October 2024, a delegation from KNEU, led by its Rector, attended a ceremonial event marking the beginning of the new academic year at SGH. The event was attended by distinguished figures such as former President of Poland Aleksander Kwaśniewski and Professor Danuta Hübner. In his speech, SGH Rector Piotr Wachowiak emphasized the importance of Poland’s membership in the European Union and the university’s role in shaping leaders who contribute to the country's economic development. Additionally, a delegation from KNEU, headed by Rector Dmytro Lukyanenko, visited the Warsaw School of Economics for the official opening of the 2024/2025 academic year. During a meeting with the Rector of the Warsaw School of Economics, Professor Piotr Wachowiak, a ceremonial signing of a Letter of Intent took place regarding the establishment of dual-degree programs between Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman and the Warsaw School of Economics.
