On June 19, 2025, KNEU held a roundtable on “Horizon Europe and WIN2EDIH” focused on digital innovation and research for Ukraine’s recovery.19 June 2025р.The event was organized by WIN2EDIH in partnership with the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine and KNEU. The aim of the roundtable was to promote the development of partnerships between research institutions, businesses, digital innovation hubs, and public authorities to mobilize the opportunities of the Horizon Europe Programme and the potential of WIN2EDIH for digital transformation, innovation implementation, and the recovery of Ukraine’s economy in the context of European integration. The key topics of the discussion included: · Tools and opportunities for Ukrainian organizations to participate in the Horizon Europe Programme · The role of Digital Innovation Hubs in the recovery of Ukraine’s economy · Support for small and medium-sized enterprises in implementing digital technologies · Digital transformation of education, science, and the public sector · Development of AI, cybersecurity, high-performance computing, among others. The roundtable was moderated by Professor Larysa Antonyuk, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Vice-Rector for Research at KNEU, and Coordinator of the WIN2EDIH international project. She emphasized the role of European Digital Innovation Hubs in shaping Ukraine’s digital ecosystem and the importance of advanced technologies for Ukraine’s economic revival and victory. The event was opened with welcoming remarks by: · Professor Dmytro Lukyanenko, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Rector of KNEU · Anatolii Bahán, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) Key presentations were delivered by: · Ihor Taranov, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Head of the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine at the National Research Foundation of Ukraine (NRFU), who spoke on “Opportunities for Ukrainian Researchers within the Horizon Europe Programme” · Nataliia Didenko, PhD in Social Communication, Senior Researcher, Deputy Head of the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine at NRFU, who delivered a detailed presentation on “Horizon Europe Programme in 2025: Synergy of Digital Innovation and Scientific Research” · Professor Denys Ilnytskyi, Doctor of Economic Sciences, KNEU’s Lead in the WIN2EDIH project, who spoke on “The Role of Digital Innovation Hubs in Ukraine’s Economic Recovery: The Experience of WIN2EDIH” · Professor Alla Shlapak, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Development at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, who presented on “The ‘JointGo2Market’ Partnership Model as a Key Element in Building a National Innovation Ecosystem and Integrating Science and Business” · Volodymyr Nočvai, Head of the "Virtual Center for Digital Innovation" at Kyiv Academic University and Head of the NOSC-UA DIH Digital Innovation Hub, who presented on “Building the ‘Akadem.City’ Digital Ecosystem in Cooperation with KCSA and the European Digital Innovation Hub ‘Kyiv HighTech’.” During the event, memorandums of cooperation were signed between WIN2EDIH and its associated partners: · State Institution “Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine” · Public Union “Center for Innovation ‘Steps to the Future’” Other participants in the discussion included: · Professor Valerii Heiets, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Scientist of Ukraine, and Director of the State Institution “Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the NAS of Ukraine” · Dr. Olena Nykyforuk, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Senior Researcher, Head of the Infrastructure Development Department at the same institute · Professor Andrii Horban, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Public Union “Center for Innovation ‘Steps to the Future’” Participants of the roundtable emphasized the importance of cross-sectoral cooperation, openness to partnerships, and the need to synchronize the efforts of researchers, entrepreneurs, authorities, and civil society to ensure the economic recovery of Ukraine. As a result of the event, it is planned to develop joint initiatives to support innovative business, expand participation in EU programmes, and foster the development of digital skills and infrastructure.
