KNEU Presented EDIH Opportunities at the Annual EUA-CDE Meeting in Switzerland04 June 2025р.

From June 4 to 6, 2025, First Vice-Rector of KNEU, Andrii Omelchenko, participated in the EUA-CDE Annual Meeting 2025 at the invitation of the Council of the European University Association for Doctoral Education. The event was hosted by the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) under the theme: "20 Years of Progress – Celebrating Achievements and Shaping the Future of Doctoral Education in Europe."

The annual meeting was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Salzburg Principles, which define the key guidelines for the development of doctoral education in Europe. KNEU’s participation was made possible through its membership in the European University Association (EUA) and its Council for Doctoral Education (EUA-CDE), which unites 284 members from 38 countries.

During the event, Andrii Omelchenko presented not only the achievements of KNEU in the development of PhD programs but also introduced the international academic community to the initiatives of the European Digital Innovation Hub WiN 2 EDIH, coordinated by the university.

In particular, the First Vice-Rector emphasized how WIN2EDIH contributes to the development of digital competencies, supports small and medium-sized enterprises in implementing innovative technologies, and creates new opportunities for researchers and PhD candidates in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and high-performance computing.

The event also included productive meetings between Andrii Omelchenko and Alexandra Kanjuo-Mrčela, Chair of the EUA-CDE Steering Committee, Simon Marti, Chair of EUA-CDE, and members of the Steering Committee. Discussions focused on the potential integration of EDIH’s innovative digital solutions into European initiatives for the advancement of doctoral education.

WIN2EDIH remains an active participant in building a shared European research and innovation space, strengthening the links between universities, researchers, and businesses to enhance Ukraine's digital competitiveness.
