Svitlana Bulbeniuk at CIVICA Inclusion Workshop03 December 2025р.
On 20-21 November 2025, Svitlana Bulbeniuk, Professor of the Department of Political Technologies had the honour of representing Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman at the WP7 CIVICA Inclusion Workshop (Erasmus+) as part of the cooperation with the CIVICA alliance. Representatives of the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman, the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Kyiv School of Economics, and Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University. Participants from European universities included representatives from the London, Stockholm, and Warsaw Schools of Economics, the European University Institute, the National University of Political Studies (Florence, Italy), and Public Administration (Bucharest, Romania). The workshop was held at Sciences Po – Institute of Political Studies (Paris, France), whose representatives shared their experience of implementing inclusive education for refugees and collaborating with businesses on educational projects with the workshop participants. Special thanks to Kate Vivian, Vice-President for Sustainable Development and University Life at Sciences Po, and Frank Stadelmaier, Managing Director of CIVICA at Sciences Po, for their comprehensive assistance and openness. During the two-day workshop, participants had the opportunity to learn about successful cases of inclusive education at Sciences Po and to talk directly with participants in such programmes for refugees from Burundi, Rwanda and Afghanistan, as well as to learn about the activities of student mentors for refugees. The presentation by the representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency) on opportunities to support refugees in obtaining higher education was particularly memorable. Undoubtedly, the Ukrainian reality has its own specifics, but the experience of French colleagues is worth studying and borrowing best practices. The Researches & Professors At Risk programme, aimed at supporting researchers who are in areas of armed conflict and wish to implement their own projects, is also of interest to the academic community in Ukraine. Svitlana Bulbeniuk, Professor of the Department of Political Technologies at KNEU, had the opportunity to present Ms. Kate Vivian with an English-language collective monograph entitled “Political Technologies of Information War: Domestic and World Aspects”, prepared by representatives of the department in 2024. We hope that the visit to Sciences Po will mark the beginning of long-term and fruitful cooperation between our university and this and other prestigious academic institutions.
