In April 2025, the Director of the Institute of Global Economic Policy at Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University (KNEU), Professor of the Department of International Economics and Doctor of Economic Sciences, Oleg Shvydanenko, visited the University of Economics in Bratislava (EUBA). The main purpose of the visit was to strengthen academic cooperation and initiate new joint research initiatives between the two higher education institutions.

During the visit, working meetings were held with representatives of the Faculty of International Relations, the Department of International Economic Relations, and the Department of Economic Diplomacy at EUBA. The participants discussed the potential for establishing inter-university research groups, preparing joint scientific publications, and exploring opportunities for participation in international grant competitions. Particular attention was given to topics such as digital economic transformation, green economy, sustainable development, and global economic policy.

Professor Shvydanenko presented the scientific activities of the Institute of Global Economic Policy at KNEU, including ongoing research on regional integration, reform of global economic institutions, and the impact of geoeconomic challenges on emerging markets. An agreement was reached to develop a joint research project focused on a comparative analysis of the economic policies of Central and Eastern European countries and Ukraine.

An important part of the visit was participation in round tables, where current challenges for academic science under conditions of global instability were discussed. EUBA representatives expressed interest in organizing joint international conferences and symposia, creating multidisciplinary scientific platforms, and involving doctoral students in research collaboration.

Professor Shvydanenko’s visit demonstrated KNEU’s commitment to expanding international academic cooperation and confirmed the leading role of the Institute of Global Economic Policy in shaping the modern scientific agenda in the field of economics. The results of the visit laid a solid foundation for further long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation between KNEU and EUBA.
