The Research Institute "Institute of Information Systems in Economics" was established by the Order of the Rector of the State Higher Educational Institution "Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman" "On the Institute of Information Systems in Economics" of 09.11.2012, No. 898 on the basis of the Resolution of the Academic Council of the University of 01.11.2012 in order to implement the Program of Innovative Development of the University and the implementation of the main tasks provided for by the "Regulations on the Research University", approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 17.02.2010, No 163, conducting scientific research and development, implementation of innovative projects, application of new tools and modern methods in the field of design and development of information systems in the economy and providing on this basis conditions for in-depth professional training and competitiveness of the university in accordance with the priority areas of development of economic science and education.

In its activities, the Institute is guided by the current legislation, in particular the Laws of Ukraine "On Education", "On Higher Education", "On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activities", "On Priority Areas of Innovation Activity in Ukraine", other regulatory legal acts, the Statute of the University, the Internal Regulations of the University, the orders of the Rector, decisions of the Rectorate and the Academic Council of the University, as well as the Regulations "On the Institute of Information Systems in the Economy of the State Higher Educational Institution "Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman".

The purpose of the Institute of Information Systems in Economics (hereinafter referred to as the "Institute") is to carry out fundamental and applied research work in the field of development, implementation and support of information systems in science, technology, economics, industrial and infrastructure facilities of socio-economic purpose and educational activities.
