We are pleased to invite you to participate in the online event “Open Science and Urban Resilience in War-Affected Regions: Challenges and Pathways for Sustainable Recovery”, which will take place on 23 April 2026 (10:00 – 13:30 CET) via Zoom. 

 

This event will bring together representatives of academia, public institutions, civil society organizations, and practitioners working in the fields of urban development, open science, and resilience in conflict-affected contexts. 

 

The purpose of the event is to discuss current challenges and opportunities related to urban resilience in war-affected regions, as well as to exchange perspectives on open science practices, digital infrastructure for research collaboration, and capacity development needs. 

 

The program will include: 

 

presentations of preliminary analytical findings related to urban resilience challenges, open science practice, and digital research infrastructure; 

 

sessions dedicated to discussing urban resilience challenges, and needs in the areas of water, food, energy, housing, and gender equity alongside open science practices, FAIR data management, and digital infrastructure and capacity-building needs for researchers and practitioners. 

 

The event will be conducted online via Zoom 

 

Your expertise and experience would be highly valuable for discussions. The insights shared during the event will contribute to identifying priority challenges, knowledge gaps, and capacity needs related to urban resilience in conflict-affected regions.
