Scientific SchoolThe Scientific and Educational School of Global Competitive Leadership was created and operateson the basis of the Department of International Economics, founded by Doctor of Economics, Professor, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine A. Poruchnyk. It currently performs all the functions of scientific activity: knowledge production (research), its dissemination (communication) and reproduction of both knowledge and the scientific community. The core of the Scientific and Educational School of Global Competitive Leadership is represented by scientists well-known in Ukraine as well as abroad: Doctor of Economics, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine Y.M. Pakhomov, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine V.I. Chuzhykov; Doctor of Economics, Professor, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine L.L. Antoniuk; Doctor of Economics, Professor, Presidential Award winner O.A. Shvydanenko; Doctor of Economics, Professor, Presidential Award winner Y.M. Stolyarchuk; Doctor of Economics, Professor D.O. Ilnytskyi; Doctor of Economics, Professor V.O. Shevchuk; Doctor of Economics, Professor L.I. Tsymbal and many others. The total number of specialists conducting research on the topics of the scientific and educational school unites more than 60 scientists from KNEU and other scientific institutions and higher educational institutions of Ukraine. Within the framework of the School of Global Competitive Leadership, the members of the department are actively engaged in scientific research. The Department of International Economics has published about 60 monographs and more than 400 scientific articles.
Today, the Head of the Scientific and Educational School of Global Competitive Leadership is Doctor of Economics, Professor Iaroslava Stoliarchuk. She continues to develop the concept of global competitive leadership, promoting the integration of Ukrainian economic science into the global research community. Under her leadership, the school has intensified international cooperation, launched new research areas and deepened its work with foreign partners. The School of Global Competitive Leadership plays an important role in shaping modern economic thinking and developing science in Ukraine, laying the foundation for the competitive ability of the national economy in the global environment. The School continues to expand its research horizons, contributing to the integration of Ukrainian science into the global scientific space. The School actively cooperates with leading international research institutions and universities, including the London School of Economics, the Vienna University of Economics, the Warsaw School of Economics, and others. Various joint research projects, international conferences, and academic mobility programs are implemented within the framework of international cooperation. The important function of the School of Global Competitive Leadership is to take care of scientific change through training of PhDs and Doctors of Science, which has allowed the Department of International Economics to form a team of talented researchers and creative youth. It maintains and encourages traditional norms and values for the academic environment, and creates cultural, educational, moral and ethical environment favourable for scientific research. A number of postgraduate and doctoral programmes are successfully operating under its auspices, training world-class specialists. School members regularly participate in international scientific events, publish scientific works in leading peer-reviewed journals, and participate in international research grants and EU programmes. The active production of new innovative knowledge and its wide dissemination in social and economic practice allow us to adequately represent the scientific achievements of the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman in domestic and foreign circles, to form its scientific image and improve the quality of student training. The School of Global Competitive Leadership not only maintains the traditions of academic research, but also actively develops new areas of study of current trends in the international economy.
