Editorial ethics

Main Provisions

  • Reviewers and editors are required to conduct an unbiased review of manuscripts, respecting confidentiality, and declare conflicts of interest in advance.
  • The editorial board carefully reviews all disputes and violations, and makes adjustments or withdrawals of materials if necessary.

General duties and responsibilities of the editorial board

  • The editorial board relies on the developments of the committee on Publication Ethics (UK) and other foreign editorial associations.
  • Guarantees the confidentiality of materials submitted to the publication throughout the entire editorial and publishing process, takes into account the provisions of the law of Ukraine "on personal data protection".
  • It takes into account the comments and suggestions of readers, authors and reviewers on ways to improve the publication's work.
  • The editorial board promptly responds to any complaints about the work of the Journal and guarantees the solution of all problematic situations.

Cooperation with authors

  • The editorial board provides authors with detailed instructions on the editorial and publishing process, informs them about the terms of acceptance of materials and the dates of publication of issues.
  • The editorial board determines the criteria for evaluating materials and selects reviewers for each individual manuscript.
  • Sends authors detailed comments from reviewers.
  • The editorial board retains the right to minor literary editing and correction of texts while preserving the author's style.
  • The decision to accept/reject a manuscript is based on its relevance, novelty, compliance with the scientific direction and requirements of the journal.
  • If the manuscript contains many controversial points (for example, negative reviews about the quality of the article by both reviewers, the article is not finalized by the author, taking into account the comments of reviewers), the editorial board may refuse to publish such materials.
  • At the request of the author, the manuscript can be withdrawn from consideration (with the subsequent possibility of resuming submission to the queue). To do this, the author must contact the editor with a corresponding request.

Cooperation with reviewers

  • The editorial board provides reviewers with detailed instructions on how to work.
  • The editorial board asks reviewers to report all cases of plagiarism.
  • Sends a message of gratitude to reviewers for their contribution to the publication.
  • Ensures that the qualifications of all reviewers correspond to the level of a professional publication, and adjusts their composition if necessary.
  • Stops working with reviewers who provide reviews of poor quality or with constant delay.
  • Ensures that the review process is honest, objective, unbiased and timely.
  • Adapts the review process to the needs of users and allows each reviewer to review the submission in the most convenient way.
  • Reviewers do not have the right to disclose the data presented in manuscripts before they are published.

Collaboration with editors

  • The editorial board undertakes to provide new editors with detailed instructions on how to work with the specifics of the editorial and publishing process.
  • Constantly inform members of the editorial board about innovations.
  • Periodically consults with members of the editorial board, informs about changes in the publication's policy, technical innovations and exchanges suggestions for the further functioning of the collection of scientific papers.
  • Editors do not have the right to disclose the data presented in manuscripts before they are published.

For authors

  • The list of authors should indicate the persons who have made a significant contribution to the scientific research presented in the article. Academic status, position, or other seniority should not determine the order in this list; the order of authors should indicate the relative leadership and the amount of researchers ' contribution to this scientific work.
  • The author of the manuscript is considered to be a researcher who took part in all subsequent stages of article preparation: formulation of the research idea and statement of the research problem and goals; development of the concept and design of the manuscript, data collection, analysis and interpretation;
  • preparation of an article or its critical scientific review and Correction; interpretation of the results.
  • Each author is responsible for the content of the article. If the work was done by a large group of scientists, the list of authors should include people who meet the above criteria and add the name of the group.
  • Research funding or general supervision of the group's work is not authorship.
  • If changes need to be made to the list of authors for any reason between the submission of the manuscript and its publication, the author depositing the manuscript should contact the editorial board and indicate the reason for the changes.

Conflict of interest

  • A conflict of interest is the presence of factors that negatively affect objectivity, or may be perceived as interference in the process of reviewing, making editorial decisions, publishing and presenting a manuscript.
  • Personal relationships (for example, friends, family members, current or previous managers, opponents) with persons involved in submitting or reviewing manuscripts (authors, reviewers, editors, or members of the editorial board);
  • Personal beliefs (political, religious, ideological, or other) related to the subject of the manuscript that may interfere with the objective publication process (at the stage of Submission, Review, editorial decision-making, or publication).
  • The reviewer or editor is a colleague of the author who participated in or supervised the conduct of this study.
  • Membership in organizations that lobby for the author's interests.
  • Research grants from any sponsored organizations: governmental, non-governmental, research or charitable institutions.
  • Patent applications (available or pending), including applications from institutions to which the author is related and from which he can profit.
  • Fees, gifts, and rewards of any kind.
  • All persons related to the manuscript, including authors and reviewers who comment and evaluate this material, should report the existence of a conflict of interest.
  • If, in the opinion of the editors, there are circumstances that may affect an unbiased review, the editorial board does not involve such a reviewer.
  • The editorial board reserves the right not to publish the manuscript if the author's stated Conflict of interest threatens the objectivity and reliability of the research assessment.
  • If the editorial board finds that there is a conflict of interest that was not declared at the time of submission, the manuscript may be rejected. If an undeclared conflict of interest is detected after publication, the article can be corrected or deleted if necessary.

Corrections and additions

  • If necessary, the editorial board makes the necessary corrections and clarifications, publishes refutations and apologies.
  • Editors can make minor edits (correct minor errors) and clarify the content of the article, which improve its content, but do not significantly change its structure as a whole.

A manuscript submitted to several editions

  • At the time of submission, the authors must confirm that the submitted manuscript (or another similar one) is not currently submitted for consideration and publication in another publication. If a similar work has already been submitted or published in another journal, the editorial board will not consider such manuscripts.

Intellectual property

  • The editorial board responds to signals related to intellectual property issues and works to prevent potential violations of the current legislation of Ukraine on intellectual property and copyright.

Plagiarism

  • The authors are responsible for the accuracy of information in articles, the accuracy of titles, surnames and citations.
  • In cases of plagiarism detection, the authors of the submitted materials are responsible.
