Global Food Security Modeling in the Conditions of War in Ukraine

The aim of the project is to develop and practical apply tools for assessing food security threats based on Data Science methods (artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc.), determining methods of reducing risks associated with providing the population of Ukraine and other countries with food, and forming improved approaches to reducing dependencies on external factors, as well as the development of measures that will ensure access to scarce food stocks to increase sustainability and ensure global food security.

 

Main tasks:

  1. To analyze the dynamics of global food security and identify key factors influencing food security levels in the context of war at both national and global markets.
  2. To explore global experience in food security risk management and develop a methodology for assessing food security risks during wartime and post-war recovery.
  3. To develop a new concept for modeling global food security.
  4. To design and implement practical tools for modeling risks and assessing threats to global food security.
  5. To evaluate plans and measures undertaken to eliminate hunger and ensure sustainable food security during wartime.
  6. To build an action scenario model for eradicating hunger and ensuring sustainable global and national food security during wartime and in the post-war periods.
  7. To study the consequences of declining global food security in the post-war period and future challenges for Ukraine’s economy.
  8. To develop recommendations for the formation of Ukraine’s food security policy during wartime and post-war periods.
  9. To develop decision-making support systems for ensuring food security in Ukraine based on advanced digital technologies.
