Department of international trade

General information

That is the first and exclusive department of international trade in Ukraine, created in 2005, which graduates and provides for the preparation of specialists according to the master’s program “International trade”.

The main task of the department is formation of student’s professional competencies of Bachelor and Master levels of education in the sphere of international trade and international marketing; implementation of research activities according to such prospective directions as formation of trade policies of the countries in conditions of the functioning of global trade system WTO, development of forms and methods of commercial diplomacy, updating of technologies of international marketing activity; continual improvement of technique, forms and methods of teaching the disciplines; cultivation in the future specialists of dynamism, creativity, self-discipline, good faith and patriotism.  

 

History of the Department

Creation of the Department in 2005 was a kind of statement of the contribution of the faculty to the process of training specialists in the field of international trade and marketing activities in terms of integration into the global trading system, which was the logical continuation of the institutional formation of the Research and Teaching school of Professor D. Lukyanenko; that included key areas of international economic activity (economics, management, finance, trade). That was a step to further structural optimization of the faculty work to improve quality of Master’s education according to the criteria of the Bologna Process, the recognition of accumulated experience and methodological capacity of the staff in the field of international trade and economic relations.

International Trade

Educational degree: Bachelor

The aim of the science: to form the students’ understanding of trends, patterns and mechanisms of international trade, analysis of indicators of development; knowledge of modern forms and methods of organization of international exchange of goods, services and products of intellectual property as well as modern instruments for regulation of the international trade processes

International Marketing

Educational degree: Bachelor

The aim of the science: to provide the students with the theoretical knowledge system and practical skills in the sphere of international marketing.

The target of the science: to create the students’ complex of competences that will be enough to start to work by specialty in the primary positions under the supervision of experienced professionals and managers

Economic Diplomacy

The aim of the discipline: to form the system of theoretical knowledge and practical skills regarding modern models, methods, facilities, tools, functions, principles and features of formation of the system of economic diplomacy of the countries in the process of implementation of the national foreign-trade state interests

Diplomatic and Consular Service

The aim of the discipline: to form the system of knowledge regarding the methodology of implementation of strategic tasks of foreign policy of the country with diplomatic and consular services, in particular, provide national security, economic prosperity, protection of the state interests and rights of the citizens abroad

Trade Policy and Commercial Diplomacy

The aim of the discipline:  to form the system of theoretical knowledge and practical skills regarding the modern models, methods and tools of formation of trade policy and system of commercial diplomacy of the country.

The target of the discipline: to form the students’ system of knowledge, methodological approaches and skills in the sphere of trade policy and commercial diplomacy of the country

Customs and Tariff Regulation

The aim of the discipline: to form the system of theoretical knowledge and practical skills regarding mechanisms and instruments of customs and nontariff regulation of export-import operations, as the basis for protection of national economic interests of the nations.

The target of the discipline: to form the students’ complex of competences in the sphere of customs regulation that will be sufficient to work by specialty in the structure of Customs services of the states and business-structures engaged in export/import operations

International Contract Procedures

The aim of the discipline: to form the system of theoretical knowledge and practical skills regarding modern methods and technologies for the management of international contractual activities, such as understanding basic terms, mastering the IC tools, determination and substantiation of the main conditions for IC performance and termination

Management of International Marketing

The aim of the discipline:to form the system of theoretical knowledge and practical skills regarding modern models, methods and techniques of management of the international marketing activity of the enterprise (organization).

The target of the discipline: to form the students’ complex of competences that will be sufficient for professional work, professional development and career

Training: “Strategies and tactics of the international trade and economic negotiations” (Trade negotiation skills)

The aim of the discipline: to form complex of abilities, skills and professional competences with regard to bilateral and multilateral international trade and economic negotiations, especially in the form of the negotiation process within the WTO multilateral trade system and also the complex of analytical, creative and communication skills that will enhance competitiveness of graduates on the labor market
