KNEU student participated in CIVICA Honour Seminars22 July 2025р.

Recently, interesting events took place in Vienna as part of the CIVICA for Ukraine initiative. Our wonderful student Daria Nechyporenko had an incredible opportunity to participate in the CIVICA Honour Seminars organized by the Central European University in Vienna.

“It was a great honor for me to be selected to participate in this week-long program, which brought together master's students from all over Europe. In these difficult times, such initiatives not only provide academic enrichment, but also solidarity and support, for which I am sincerely grateful”, commented Daria.

During the seminar, participants delved into EU anti-discrimination legislation — a topic that initially intimidated me, as not all participants have a legal background. However, thanks to the incredible professionalism of Professors Marie-Pierre Grange and Matthias Moschel, who created a learning environment that was both accessible and stimulating, everything went wonderfully.  The classes with guest experts and visits to institutions such as the Gleichbehandlungsanwaltschaft (Ombudsman for Equal Treatment) and the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights were particularly interesting. For Daria Nechyporenko, as someone who currently lives in Vienna, it was very useful to see the legal and institutional mechanisms in place to protect people from discrimination.

In addition to the seminars, participants of the CIVICA Honour Seminars also had the opportunity to enjoy dinner together, which allowed them to immerse themselves in Viennese culture and interact with other students. “I was incredibly inspired by the diversity of ideas of the students I met, and I left this seminar feeling even more united, aware, and confident in my own abilities,” said Daria.
