Summer School for Journalists and Media Practitioners at the EUI05 Березня 2026р.

EUI’s Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom (CMPF) is pleased to offer fee waivers for its Summer School for Journalists and Media Practitioners: https://cmpf.eui.eu/course/2026-summer-school-for-journalists-and-media-practitioners/

Eligibility

The CMPF Summer School is primarily designed for mid-career journalists and media practitioners, but it is also open to other stakeholders from the news industry and research community.

Course Dates

Both courses run from Monday 15 June to Friday 19 June 2026

Target Audience

  • PhD candidates and specialists in the field, including researchers, professors, and administrative staff.
  • Participants will be selected directly by CMPF, and only a limited number of applicants will be admitted. Selected candidates will receive a fee waiver in addition to Erasmus+ funding to support their participation in the course.

Accommodation

The EUI collaborates with the Convent of San Domenico Guesthouse, located near the campus, which offers rooms at €40 per night. The rooms are simple and have shared bathroom facilities, but they are of a good standard. Considering the price, it is unlikely that similar accommodation rates can be found in Florence. Participants may receive the Erasmus+ grant in cash on the first day of arrival and can then use it to pay the Convent directly. Priority for this accommodation may be given to PhD students.

Erasmus+ grant

Students will receive:

  • €79 per day
  • An additional €100 if eligible for the "fewer opportunities" category
  • €309 for travel
  • Vouchers for lunches and coffee breaks during the summer school

Staff will receive:

  • €190 per day
  • €309 for travel
  • Vouchers for lunches and coffee breaks during the summer school

Application deadline: 15 March 2026.
