 Doctor Michał Gabriel Woźniak

Michał Gabriel Woźniak (born March 24, 1949) is a Polish scholar, professor of economic sciences, author of the theoretical trend of the economics of integrated development. Lecturer at the Cracow University of Economics and Head of the Chair of Applied Economics and Head of the Chair of Microeconomics (formerly Chair of Economic Theory and International Relationships) at the University of Rzeszow. Founder of the scientific quarterly journal "Social Inequalities and Economic Growth" and his editor-in-chief. Correspondent Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Polish Economic Association, Economic Section of the Polish Academy of Learning and the “Poland 2000 Plus” Forecast Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

After completing his studies in 1972, he completed his doctorate at the same university in 1981 (a dissertation entitled "Mechanisms of the dynamics of economic growth rate in the COMECON countries in the years 1950-1978", awarded by the Minister of Science, Higher Education and Technology). In 1994 he received the habilitation (dissertation entitled "Problems of stabilization in the economy: systemic conditions"). Full Professor (since 2004). Honorary Doctorate of KNEU (since 2015).

He is the author and editor of over 20 books and over 300 scientific papers and reports published in Polish, English, Russian and Ukrainian. His research in the field of macroeconomics includes the theory of economic growth, stabilization policy, a political transformation from a socialist (communist) economy to a market economy, knowledge-based economy and innovation, inequality in income distribution and integration of socio-economic development processes.

In the last fifteen years, he has been conducting research under a long-term research program focusing on systemic conditions and interrelationships of economic growth, social inequalities and modernization processes in the sphere of the real economy of Poland. He disseminates the results of this research on the two annual conferences, that he organizes, entitled "Social Inequalities and Economic Growth" and "Economy of Poland".

Since 2005 he has been intensively developing scientific cooperation with Ukrainian economists. Within this cooperation a number of scientific papers have been published in scientific centres of Ukraine. Among them the most important is the monograph entitled  "Convergence and divergence in Europe: Polish and Ukrainian Cases”, published in three languages: Polish (2009), Ukrainian (2010) and English (2013), developed jointly with scientists from the Republic of Ukraine, especially from the KNEU. Its Ukrainian and English versions were released by KNEU in Kiev. This monograph has become a valued source of inspiration for academic debates on reform in Ukraine in various academic centres.
