| Меєрс В., Дем'яненко С., Джонсон Т., Зоря С. Зміна фокуса аграрної політики та розвитку села в Україні: висновки та перспективи для руху вперед: зб. наук. праць. – К.: КНЕУ, 2005. – 172 с. These studies, conducted under the Ukraine Agricultural and Rural Development Policy Project, were carried out by the Institute of Agribusiness and Rural Development in Ukraine and organized by IBI-International Business Initiatives, under contract to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Agriculture/Regional and Policy Specialist Bohdan Chomiak at USAID/Ukraine was especially helpful in providing ideas and guidance at critical stages. We are greatly indebted to Leonid Kozachenko, president of the Ukraine Agrarian Confederation; Ivan Demchuk, first deputy minister, Ministry of Agricultural Policy; and Dymtro Berezovskyi, manager of the Wellbeing through Agrarian Development of Ukraine Project of the National Agricultural Chamber. They all made time for very informative consultations from the beginning to the end of the project and organized roundtables where study results were presented to and discussed by their agencies and organizations. We also thank the many people in government, NGO, and donor project offices and private farmers in Lviv and Odessa who took the time to share their observations and opinions on topics covered by these studies. Special thanks go to those consulted in the Lviv Oblast Department of Agriculture, Lviv Agricultural Chamber and Lviv Extension Services; the USAID Agricultural Marketing Project in Kiev, Lviv, and Odessa; the USAID Ukrainian Land Titling Initiative Project in Kiev, Lviv, and Odessa; and the DFID Ukrainian Rural Livelihood Program in Kiev and Odessa. This is not a complete list: we apologize to anyone we failed to mention. We are grateful for the excellent support of the staff of IBI throughout the project, as well as the assistance of Oleg Niveyvskyi, Olexander Nychyporuk, Inna Sviderska, and Anatoliy Suderkin, who contributed to the collection of data and relevant materials. Finally, while we critiqued each other’s papers, we thank Natalija Kazlauskiene, who reviewed and commented on the rural development and decentralization chapters; Monika Tothova, who commented on the regulation chapter; and Kay Maas, who commented on the introductory chapter and provided editorial advice. However, we accept all responsibility for any remaining errors and omissions. |
